KARMA YOGA & IKS: Gandhi Meets Gen-Z at Sabarmati Ashram
IKS, Gandhi and GEN-Z — 38 IT students explore Karma Yoga and living heritage through
AI at Sabarmati Ashram.
On September 26, 2026, 38 IT students (26 BCA and 12 Integrated M.Sc.) visited
Sabarmati Ashram for a field study under Karma Yoga and IKS. Walking through Hriday
Kunj, they connected classroom ideas like Nishkama Karma (selfless action) and
Swavalamban (self-reliance) to Gandhi’s simple life. The serene riverbank offered a rare
break from screen routines, yet students creatively bridged past and present by
prompting smartphone AI to analyze exhibits on the go. The visit showed how Gen-Z
naturally revitalizes ancient Karma Yoga and IKS philosophies through a modern digital
lens.
